Tattoo Process: What to Expect
1. Booking Your Appointment
-
To begin the booking process, contact our studio via email or complete the "Request an Appointment" form on our website. A team member will follow up to gather any necessary details or match you with the most suitable artist for your design.
-
When selecting an artist, we consider the style of your tattoo, size, placement, color preference (black & grey or color), and your availability. The more details you provide in your inquiry, the smoother and faster the booking process will be.
-
Once all information is reviewed, we will recommend a consultation or schedule your tattoo appointment. Consultations are free and scheduled directly, whereas tattoo appointments require a deposit and/or design fee, which will be communicated via email along with the artist’s rates.
-
If your selected artist manages their own bookings, your inquiry will be forwarded to them, and they (or their booking manager) will contact you to finalize your session.
2. Consultations
-
A consultation allows you to meet your artist, discuss your tattoo ideas, and ask any questions about the design or process. However, no sketches or designs will be created during this session.
-
Due to high demand, most consultations take place during another client’s tattoo session while they’re on a short break. Consultation times are limited to 30 minutes and cannot be adjusted. A specific consultation time will be provided, and prompt arrival is appreciated so the full time can be used effectively.
3. Tattoo Appointment
-
Check-In: Arrive on time with a valid, government-issued photo ID (no copies or digital versions). You will be required to complete a tattoo release form as mandated by the Texas State Health Department. This applies to all clients, including returning ones.
-
Design Process: Your artist will review and finalize your design on the day of your appointment with your input. Minor adjustments can be made to ensure the perfect execution. Some artists design the day of the appointment with the client present to ensure tattoo reflects the most current vision. The first hour (or more) may be dedicated to this process. Please allow your artist the necessary time to refine your vision.
-
Stencil Placement: Once the design is finalized, a stencil will be applied to confirm placement, size, and positioning. Multiple stencils may be tested to ensure the best outcome, and other artists may be consulted for a second opinion—this collaborative approach ensures top-quality results.
-
Tattooing: Once everything is approved, your artist will begin the tattoo process. If you need breaks or adjustments, please communicate with your artist—we want you to be comfortable throughout the experience. Your comfort is a top priority! You’re encouraged to bring anything that helps you feel at ease—blankets, headphones, books, snacks, water, etc. (Note: Alcohol or prohibited substances are not allowed in the studio). The area also has a variety of food spots available for takeout or delivery. The studio has vending machines with snacks and drinks as well.
-
Aftercare: At the end of your session, your artist will review detailed aftercare instructions and provide a take-home guide. If you have any questions post-appointment, feel free to reach out, and our team will gladly assist you.
Preparing for your appointment:
Rest & Nutrition: Get a good night’s sleep and eat a nutritious meal before your session to stay energized.
-
Avoid Alcohol: Do not consume alcohol the day or night before your appointment.
-
Bring a Snack (If Needed): For longer sessions, consider bringing a small snack to maintain your energy.
-
Guests & Waiting Area: If you bring someone along, be aware that the artist may ask them to remain in the waiting area.
-
No Numbing Cream: Avoid applying numbing cream before your appointment, as many brands can cause skin reactions and interfere with the healing process.
Final Note
Every artist may have a slightly different approach to booking and tattooing. If you’ve had tattoos before, please keep in mind that your new artist may have a different process. We appreciate your trust in our team and look forward to creating a piece of art you’ll love.
Touch-Up Policy
Our artists offer one complimentary touch-up between 4-6 weeks after your tattoo session for areas that have faded prematurely or did not heal as expected.
Exceptions:
-
Touch-ups are not free for tattoos on the hands, fingers, feet, toes, neck, or above the neck. If you require a touch-up in these areas, please refer to our Hands, Feet, and Face Tattoo Information for additional details.

Booking a Touch-Up:
When requesting a touch-up session, please provide a clear photo of the tattoo or the specific area that requires correction. This will allow us to assess the work needed and schedule your session accordingly.

Tattoo Preparation and Design Confirmation Policy

This includes checking the spelling, design details, and placement to ensure everything meets your expectations. Your tattoo artist will assist you in reviewing the stencil, but the final approval is your responsibility.
-
Understand that it is your responsibility to verify the correct spelling, design, and placement of the stencil before the tattoo is applied.
